What is synergy?

Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more substances, or other agents to produce a combine effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.

“Riding is not just simply about the horse, or the rider, it’s a complex synergy of physical, mental and emotional states of  the horse, rider and their environment.”

 MORNING -  INTERACTIVE THEORY SESSIONS

These sessions will help you become more self aware of restrictions you have when connecting with your horse.  Then, with this knowledge, we will share useful techniques to reduce and, with practice, prevent such restrictions.

Joint mobility
Top to toe warm-ups to find and release tight joints, improves body awareness

Body awareness
Discover where you hold stiffness and tightness and how this affects the horse

Standing Posture
Improve your poise without force or stiffness, learn which muscles affect your feel

Mindfulness
Being in the moment, like a horse, improves your intent without stiffening your muscles

Breathing
Helps release tension, reduces anxiety, lowers your centre, improves balance and mindfulness

Energy dynamics
Using intent with shape, movement, changing degree of intensity and rhythm

Pairs work
Find out what works with a partner that can talk!

AFTERNOON
GROUP SESSIONS WITH HORSES

Using what we have learnt in the theory, improve your connection either ridden, at liberty or in groundwork  – as we have heard so many time before, the horse is our greatest teacher. This only truly works if we learn to listen without our whole, body mind and spirit. – this is the true Art of Feel.

During each horse session, each student will choose  techniques/movements they wish to improve, based on what they have learnt about themselves during the theory session.  Depending on the group dynamic, we may work as whole on one exercise, in pairs or as individuals.   Examples: playing with energy dynamics, riding a circle, breathing in time with the horse, moving a horse with less physical effort (liberty, ridden or ground work) , and simply being in the moment with the horse.

Each course will be tailored to suit the students. We may find some days we spend more time on the ground and other days, more time with the horses.  The aim is to help you find the keys to your own success.
